Cancelling a booking as a space owner
What happens when you cancel a paid booking, what it costs you, and how strikes work.
Advertisers plan around your space, so cancelling a paid booking has costs. You can still cancel yourself from the booking page; it shows the exact cost before you confirm.
What happens when you cancel a paid booking
- The advertiser gets the booking total back in full. We may offer them a similar space nearby that can use the same ad.
- You are not paid for the booking.
- You get a strike. At 3 strikes your spaces are hidden until we review them. See Strikes.
- We charge your saved card for the costs already spent on the booking: the card processing on the refund and any production already done. The amount is shown before you cancel. If the charge fails, it comes off your future payouts and your spaces are hidden until it is paid.
The same applies if you do not install the ad within 3 days of the start date, or do not confirm your space is ready in time.
Instant book: the first 24 hours
If the booking came in through Instant book, you can decline it within 24 hours with no strike and no charge. See Instant book.
Moving, closing or something unforeseen
The rules above still apply. If you are relocating, closing, or something happened that you could not plan for, tell us from Help and support before or when you cancel. The team looks at each case and decides whether to remove the strike. We cannot promise the outcome.
How to cancel
- Open the booking under Requests.
- Choose Cancel booking and give a short reason for the advertiser.
- Check the cost and strike shown, then confirm.
